Crowds from all around the island flock here for an authentic charcoal grilled mookata experience, which not only lends a nice smoky flavour to the items on the grill, but it provides even heat, resulting in juicy and succulent meats. Order the Yum Mak Mak Set ($39.90), offering an extension selection of meat and seafood including marinated pork and chicken, pork belly, pork liver, prawns, squid, crabstick, fish balls, vegetables and more. The portions are generous and will easily feed 2 to 3 diners. Other notable ingredients to try include the Thai Mama Noodle ($1), beef ($16), mussels ($10), oysters ($10) and quail eggs.

For an unrivalled mookata dining experience with a view, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better spot than Kin Tub Thai Mookata BBQ Steamboat, located along Boat Quay, offering scenic views of the Singapore River. Start with the Standard Platter ($44.90) comprising a good selection of quality ingredients including prawn, crab sticks, pork slices, cuttlefish and enoki mushrooms. Their cheese dip is unlike any other, featuring a scrumptious blend of nacho cheese and mozzarella, boasting punchy flavourful and a delightful stringy texture. Affordably priced at $29.90 per adult from Mondays to Thursdays, the buffet allows diners to indulge in an array of fresh ingredients such as oysters and prawns as well as marinated meats and vegetables. There is an additional $3 charge on Friday to Sunday and on public holidays.

With five outlets located island-wide, 888 Mookata is easily accessible regardless where you reside. Apart from convenience, diners can also expect quality, variety and affordability when dining at any one of their outlets, offering generously sized platters for parties of 2 ($26) and parties of 4 ($45). Both platters come with a good mix of marinated meats, seafood, and vegetables like marinated pork belly, half shell scallop, mussels, Thai fishcake, golden mushroom and more.

If you are looking to indulge, this mookata restaurant at North Canal Road is right up your alley, offering a selection of premium beef from Japan and Australia. The Beef Lovers Combo ($99.90) is a great way to experience some of the best beef cuts that the establishment has to offer, featuring a good mix of Australian Wagyu Ribeye, Angus ribeye, Wagyu Karubi, Wagyu deckle, and Wagyu meatballs. The portions are generous and is good for sharing among four to five persons. For diners who prefer other protein options, they can try either the Meat Lovers Combo ($59.90) or the Super Value Combo ($29.90) – the former offers a selection of beef cuts as well as Thai herb chicken and Thai herb pork, while the latter provides meats like Kurobuta pork collar, Kurobuta pork belly, Kurobuta meatballs, Thai herb chicken, Thai herb pork and prawns.

Fans of this popular eatery will be pleased to know that they can continue to satisfy their mookata craving at Lavender Street – the establishment recently relocated from Golden Mile Complex, and we are pleased to share that the quality of food is still top notch. Affordably priced at $45 for a two-person set, some notable highlights include the garlic chicken, fresh prawns and liver. While the set is recommended for two persons, the portions are generous and will easily feed three. Wash it all down with some freshly brewed Thai milk tea.

Hailing from Chiang Rai, Thailand, the owner of Aroy Mak Mookata unveiled this concept in 2013 to share some of the culinary gems from the Thai city. Almost everything is prepared from scratch here including the Pork Bone and Tom Yum soup stock, and Thai chilli sauces – all of which go perfectly with their marinated meats. For just $20.80, diners can fill their plates with as many ingredients as they wish – notable highlights to try include the Thai herb pork sausage, black pepper marinated chicken and marinated pork cheek.
