Imperial War Museum
A grand museum exhibiting war artefacts with extensive galleries documenting global conflicts.
While it might be deceptively residential, Kennington and it's sibling Oval pack quite the punch. Just half a mile south of the river Thames, the area is a hop, skip and a jump from the parliamentary division bell, which gives MPs about eight minutes to peg it back to Westminster if there's an important vote about to happen.
The star in Kennington's crown is the Kia Oval cricket ground. However, this south-but-central location has plenty of other attractions and things going on. There are numerous bars, pubs and restaurants, as well as some fab shops. Also, not only is it well served by the Northern Line - Kennington being the spot in south London that splits the line into two branches - but it's walking distance to places like Vauxhall, Camberwell and Stockwell. Not too shabby.
