'La Traviata' is one of the most popular operas of all time and is also a perfect entry point for anyone thinking of giving it a go for the first time. Verdi's music is both beautiful and accessible and the story, like many operas, is high drama. Violetta is a courtesan, busy enjoying the Parisian high-life, when she unexpectedly falls in love. Unable to escape the consequences of her past life, she is tragically forced to sacrifice her only chance of real love...

All of that angst can't be good for you on an empty stomach so Opera North, Crafthouse and Angelica have all teamed up to offer the a luxury dining experience which beats the usual, rushed 'two courses for a tenner' pre-theatre chow down.

Enjoying the view from terrace of Angelica is always a delight but with the 'La Traviata' inspired cocktail in your hand, it's even better. Featuring Bacardi Oakheart and Cherry Brandy it's certainly going to get your evening off to a lively start, and you can head for your three course meal either before or after the opera downstairs in Crafthouse.
