It may be the shortest month of the year, but there’s no shortage of things to do during these 28 days in the town of Cascais. Take part in free dance classes, run the 21 kilometres of the Montepio Half Marathon that will connect the Bay to Guincho, or discover the staging of Eva Perón in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Teatro Experimental de Cascais. Add to this markets, workshops, walks, showcooking, craft sessions, guided tours, and a rally race, and February might just feel too short for everything on offer. Here’s the best that this month has to offer in Cascais.

In the year it celebrates 60 years of history, the Teatro Experimental de Cascais (TEC) presents a staging of Eva Perón, a play by Argentine playwright Copi, associated with travestism and previously banned in Portugal 50 years ago. Eva Perón is battling cancer and, surrounded by people with various intentions, finds herself caught in a plot that questions power and the pursuit of immortality. Featuring a cast that includes FF, João Lagarto, João Nunes Monteiro, and Rodrigo Tomás, the production features original music by Paulo Furtado, better known as The Legendary Tigerman in one of his artistic facets. The premiere at Teatro Municipal Mirita Casimiro in Estoril is scheduled for February 21st. The play will be shown from Wednesday to Saturday at 21.00, and on Sundays at 16.00, until March 27th.
