Praia das Avencas

Arrábida Natural Park, Praia das Avencas became the second area near Lisbon considered a Marine Protected Area this year. During low tide it is easier to understand why and walk along the trails marked three years ago with orange ropes, so as not to step on anything that could destroy this ecosystem with urchins, starfish, limpets and the like. A true “underwater safari”, as the environment councilor at Cascais City Council, Joana Pinto Balsemão, described it to the Público newspaper at the end of June.
