Venice’s once-dowdy youth hostel has undergone the Generator treatment, emerging with some hip decor, infinitely more inviting public spaces, a lively nightlife scene and a restaurant. There are double, triple and quad rooms suitable for families, and dorms sleeping up to 16 people, some of which are women-only.
Though prices are low when the city’s quiet, they do follow the trend elsewhere and rise sharply at busy times; breakfast and other meals are extra. People travelling on a tight budget should factor in the cost of a vaporetto pass, because most of what you’ll be wanting to visit is over the water.
