How to make a dark and stormy

To make Bermuda's national drink, you'll need dark rum, ginger beer and lime

Despite the name, this classic highball is the ideal sipper for sunny, warm-weather days. The tried-and-true recipe for the national cocktail of Bermuda calls for the island's own Gosling's rum, ginger beer and lime. At Nolita's Genuine Liquorette, master mixologist Eben Freeman creates a Mexican-bulldog–style version of the drink by inverting an airplane-sized bottle of rum directly into a can of ginger beer. Dark and stormy recipe:

Ingredients:
.5 oz lime juice
7.5 oz can of ginger beer
50 ml bottle of Ron Zacapa rum
Garnish: lime wedge
*Special tools: citrus reamer

Method:
Open ginger beer can.
Use citrus reamer to expand mouth of can.
Pour out 1 oz of soda from can, and add in lime juice.
Insert straw and inverted bottle of rum.
Garnish with a lime wedge on the side of the can.
