If there’s one thing the world has gotten pretty good at this year, it’s online events – and the ingenious performers and arts venues of the world are pulling out all the stops for the festive season. Look no further to find heartwarming virtual carol concerts, seasonal plays and even online cookery workshops to help you ace that turkey – all of which you can stream from the comfort of your home.

London’s historic Borough Market is putting on a series of festive food workshops on subjects like celebratory cheese boards and upcycling your Christmas leftovers. There are also live cook-a-longs and chats with London chefs.
When is it? Free on Borough Market’s Facebook page, the events ran until December 18 but you can watch them all back now.
A star-studded hour of musical numbers, sketches and seasonal poetry that’ll take place IRL at the Actors’ Church in Covent Garden, but be streamed to audiences online. The full line-up is TBC, but Imelda Staunton, Jim Carter, Minnie Driver, Giles Terera, Rosalie Craig and Sharon Rose are already confirmed.
When is it? The live event happened on December 16 at 7.30pm (GMT), but it’s still available to watch for free on Donmar Warehouse’s YouTube channel.
