This season is packed with everything from festivals to nightlife events and parades. Whether you’re looking to see the San Antonio River Walk turn green for St. Patrick’s Day or vibe to R&B hits in Dallas, here are the top things we’re most excited about in Texas this spring.
Discovery Green offers plenty of outdoor activities year-round, from kayaking to free yoga and sound meditation classes. But for seven weeks this spring, the park transforms into a roller-skating haven for all ages. Lace up your skates and show off your moves—or, if you’re a beginner, take a class with Daisies and Pancakes Lab. Tickets, which include skate rentals, are $14, with discounts available to first responders and military members.

Kick of St. Paddy’s day with a vibrant dose of green at the San Antonio River Walk. Over 25 gallons of eco-friendly dye will turn the river a dazzling emerald hue, mirroring the Shannon in Ireland. The celebration also includes river parades, theatre entertainment and an Emerald Run 5K.

While country music reigns supreme in Texas, One Night Only is making space for R&B lovers. Once a month, DJs spin their favorite love songs and slow jams—from Future to Beyoncé—at the Ruby Room. Expect to be surrounded by fellow R&B stans singing along, sipping cocktails and soaking in Dallas’ skyline views.

Springtime in Texas means bluebonnet season is in full swing. From mid-March to mid-April, these iconic wildflowers blanket the landscape in vibrant shades of blue. Prime viewing spots include Ennis (the official bluebonnet city), Austin’s Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and Houston’s Buffalo Bayou. No matter where you go, don’t forget to bring your camera.
