From where to eat and stay, to the best beach game in town, here's our guide to the Central Coast of New South Wales, Sydney's sprawling, sometimes strange and sometimes charming northern cousin.

Eat

  • Travel
Cameron and Hayley Cansdell opened Bombini on the site of a former Mexican restaurant last year and transformed it into a haven of locally sourced, Italian-inspired dishes. Save room for the housemade sorbetti.

Drink

Stay

  • Hotels
  • Luxury hotels
Bells at Killcare boasts a bucolic spread where you can relax in luxe suites or guest houses, unwind at the day spa and enjoy a meal at Manfredi at Bells while you sit on the balcony with killer views of the garden.

Get there

Car

The easiest way to reach the Central Coast is by car – it’s roughly a 90-minute drive from the CBD.

Public transport

If you want a more leisurely trip north and some fresh ocean air, take the L90 bus to Palm Beach and catch the ferry to Wagstaffe or Ettalong for a scenic 20-minute journey to your destination.
