At under a minute, this is Beckett's shortest play. Damien Hirst directs and Keith Allen provides the long exhalation. The camera sweeps over an island of medical and technical debris, lingering finally over an ashtray and a bottle of pills. Rendering it as a Pharmacy hit by a bomb, Hirst gets some sardonic humour into Beckett's most uncompromising vision of life.
