Don't miss these works at i Light Singapore

1. Iwagumi Air Scape

Artist ENESS (Australia)
Location The Promontory at Marina Bay

Inspired by the Japanese art form ‘iwagumi’, also known as underwater gardening or the arrangement of rocks in aquascaping, the work Iwagumi Air Scape features several illuminated giant rock displays. Accompanied by ever-changing colours and soundscapes, visitors are transported into an Alice in Wonderland-esque scenario as they manoeuvre around majestic boulders set against the backdrop of Singapore's CBD skyline.

2. Arc Zero: Nimbus

Artist Studio James Tapscott (Australia)
Location Pontoon near Red Dot Design Museum

Looking like Dr Strange’s ‘Sling Ring’ straight out of the Marvel universe, the Arc Zero: Nimbus is a ring of mist located right at the end of Marina Bay’s floating walkway overlooking the cityscape. This installation uses three familiar elements of nature – water, air, and light – to create a spectacular sight, sparking reflection on urbanisation and creating new experiences that highlight the presence of nature.

3. Dandelion

Artist Amigo & Amigo (Australia)
Location Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza

When light and music come together on such a grand scale, you know it’s going to be a captivating experience. This playful installation, shaped like a dandelion, features several 'petals' that come alive with a symphony of light and music every five minutes. Visitors can activate the light show by entering the dome and placing their palms on designated touchpoints. The music, an original piece by Otis Studio, is an homage to the wind and the dandelion's revered healing properties in various cultures.

4. Kinetic Perspective

Artist Juan Fuentes Studio (Spain)
Location Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza

Don’t miss Kinetic Perspective located right next to Dandelion. This work is an immersive abstract geometric experience inspired by the 1960s Optical Art Movement, designed using optical illusions to play tricks on your mind. Circles rotate in perpetual motion, spinning ceaselessly in a rhythmic dance. And don't just admire the installation from afar; venture around it to uncover the endless myriad patterns and distortions. A word of warning though: be careful not to get hypnotised!

5. Fountain of Happiness

Artist 27June Studio (Thailand)
Location Clifford Square

Swings are already lots of fun on their own, but Fountain of Happiness is about to double the thrill by reinventing the traditional swing, incorporating rainbow light tubes that change colours with each sway. Situated at Clifford Square, the installation invites the young-at-heart to unwind as they engage with it. And if you’re wondering just how this experience was put together – the installation uses Alibaba Cloud's AI tool, Energy Expert, to track and analyse energy use in real time.
