Musical lovers sure are in for a treat this year – with Hamilton making its Singapore debut earlier this month, and Miss Saigon coming to our shores in August. Adding to the list of musical performances, SIX the Musical will be coming to Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands this November.

SIX the Musical revolves around the lives of Henry VIII’s six wives as they reclaim their narratives through a series of pop-inspired musical numbers. The musical first debuted at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017,  and went on to perform sold out shows at London’s West End. SIX has also won 35 major international awards, including two Tony Awards and even a Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theatre Album.

SIX has gone on to become a symbol of female empowerment by highlighting the strengths and resilience of Henry VIII’s wives, who are typically overlooked when discussing Henry VIII’s tumultuous reign as King of England. The musical examines themes of female beauty, sexual and emotional abuse, as well as the disunity amongst women, creating a platform for discussions about women and their positions in society.

Tickets are still available for purchase here.
