Archifest is back for its 13th edition from September 27 to October 9. This year's theme, Craft, aims to honour those who have dedicated a lifetime in perfecting their craft in the making of architecture and the built environment where communities can live, work, and play. 

This year's event is organised by the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) and curated by renowned local architecture firm Formwerkz Architects. Check our curated line-up of immersive programmes including architectural exhibitions, conferences and forums, film screenings, and hands-on artisanal craft workshops.

Architours

Discover hidden spaces around Singapore and marvel at the city's architectural environment spanning the historical to the contemporary. With Architours, you'll have exclusive access into residential areas which are architectural wonders, such as The Living Grid House by L Architects and Aperture House by Formwerkz Architects. 

September 28-29 and October 5-6, tickets are priced at $60 per person. 

Disruptive Digital Craft

In this exhibition, check out two SUTD projects that explore the fundamentals of materiality, pattern and process to reimagine digital craft and manufacturing of the built environment. Biological Materials & Digital Manufacturing presents a novel digital manufacturing technology inspired by the way nature fabricates, while Tensegrity Membrane Shells are a new type of structural configuration in which tension and compression forces are resolved – creating a stiff, free-span structure. 

September 27 to October 9, 9am-7pm daily.

Kilnform Glass Plate

Get your creative juices on and create your very own kiln-formed glass plate in a fully equipped glassmaking studio with a 33-year old heritage of glassmaking. This three-hour workshop will teach you the basics of glassworking, where you'll prepare your mold using special kiln materials and assemble your creation in the kiln for firing.

Mindful Spatial Experiencing

Join The Urban Yoga Approach (TUYA) for an invigorating session that helps you reconnect with the living environment through your body and senses. The session is led by architectural designer and yoga practitioner Anja Humljan, who boasts decades of experience in the intersection of both fields. To sign up, click on the link here.

Craft is Great

Check out the work of British brands such as the world-renowned Foster+Partners, Broadway Malayan, MET Studio and RIBA at Craft is Great. The exhibition shines the spotlight on bespoke architectural designs in the UK and Singapore, exploring the concept of architecture as a craft and drawing from ancient to modern methods of making. 

September 27 to October 9, 9am-7pm daily. 

Teacup workshop

This three-hour workshop introduces you into ceramics and the delicate skill of crafting a unique, personalised character. You'll also learn how to form and carve an individualised character upon the clay body. 

29 September, 3pm-6pm. Tickets are priced at $85 per person here.
