For the uninitiated, the world of French art and culture can be intimidating. After all, Paris was the cultural capital of the Western world for much of the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries – so it’s important to know your stuff.

If you don’t know where to start, the Voilah! French Singapore Festival aims to bridge the gap between French and Singaporean culture. Taking place from October 3 to November 17, the festival will showcase the multifaceted aspects of French culture around the island.

This year’s edition presents a curated selection of film screenings, art exhibitions, dance duets, and orchestra performances from France’s avant-gardes. Here are some you shouldn't miss.
