Walking into Beppe Giovale’s shop in the Jewish Ghetto is like entering a cheese wonderland. The vast counter displays an overwhelming selection from the familiar parmesan, pecorino and mozzarella, to strong and stinky varieties, many of which hail from Beppe’s home region of Piedmont. There is also a small restaurant area which serves cheese tastings and a few seasonal dishes for lunch and dinner.
