Time Out says

Slightly dated Hotel Sole’s insanely central location around the corner for one of Rome’s most popular squares makes it an enviable home base from which to explore the best of the Eternal City. The old-school air of Hotel Sole can be a part of its appeal, along with the multi-level internal terrace which offer private rooftop views of the city. While the décor is fairly straightforward, each of 58 rooms is outfitted with modern comforts including AC, a tea and coffee station and free Wi-Fi. There is no gym and the communal areas are free of frills, but the location and value mean more of your vacation budget is available to splash out on the charming streets of Rome.

Neighborhood: Set between Campo de’ Fiori and Piazza Navona, Hotel del Sole is in the core of Rome’s historic center, with most major sights located just a short walk away. By day, the area is filled with shoppers taking advantage of the fresh market and many specialty food shops in the area. After sunset, the clientele shifts towards younger Romans in search of plentiful drinks at the popular outdoor patio bars and restaurants nearby.

Nearby:
Campo de’ Fiori: For a characteristic Italian market experience.
Antico Forno Roscioli: For classic Roman pizza by the slice called pizza bianca.
Pierluigi: For seafood on a beautiful outdoor terrace.

Time Out tip: Hotel del Sole is located inside a building that dates back to the 14th century, making it one of the most historic hotels in Rome. The drawback is that there is no elevator that reaches the street level, so don’t be shy about asking the front desk to help port bags up the first steep flight of stairs.
