The wait is over. Awakening Bangkok, the annual light and digital art festival of Bangkok, makes a comeback for its sixth edition. Say Sawasdee to Suvarnabhumi Airport's new terminal SAT-1, its first midfield satellite terminal and the first new terminal since its opening in 2006. This new stand-alone terminal boasts five floors with a total area of 251,000 square meters. It is connected to the main terminal with automated trains. The new terminal features minimalist design warmed with wood details, intricate Thai installations, and plenty of green plants. It will also be home to Emirates and Qatar lounges. Just get off at the Chok Chai 4 station, walk through the fresh market, and find yourself among ruined, abandoned shophouses that have been walled in by colorful pop art murals.  The Lud Pon Festival (its name translates to “set free” in Thai) features works by some of the country’s most talented street artists, including Alex Face, Himbad, Bonus, Asin, Dark1, Chun Smith, Pakorn, panda Dew, Mr.Bows, Komkrit, D.o.D, Loboboy, Bongo, Sorimeo, and mxrnies, each of whom was inspired by the concept of being set free from boundaries and trying to be their own individual selves. It's time to explore Khonkaen! Time Out Bangkok invites you all to go discover the many beautiful shades of the Esan spectrum at the grand debut of Awakening Khonkaen on Sri Chant Road. Now until July 10, the entire main road of the Esan capital is going to light up with a total of 27 lighting installations by a big horde of talented artists across the country. The 27 artworks under the Esan Spectrum theme are placed along 15 major locations on Sri Chant Road, such as HUGZMALL, Treasury Museum, and KhonKaen Innovation Center (KIC). Aside from the fun hopping to see all the glistening installations, the event also has a line-up of exciting activities like a street food market, live music performances, and special bar collaborations. For almost two months, Bangkokians were trapped inside due to the government's full-on lockdown imposition that saw hard-pressed regulations such as no dine-in at restaurants, no shopping at malls, and a night curfew. On September 1, however, life outside the roof has finally returned to the city. With the gradual decrease in the number of COVID-19-positive cases, the authorities deemed it appropriate for businesses to start reopening and some rules to ease off, which includes the green lights for certain venues to provide services like restaurants, shopping malls, massage parlors, public parks, and a few more. Major shopping malls like Siam Paragon and CentralWorld begin to see the small influxes of visitors strolling around to burn some holes in their pockets; meanwhile, Bangkok's greenery spots like Lumpini Park and Vachirabenjatas Park are getting back the low-key vibrancy from the outdoorsy.
