Hollywood Burger Diner & Steakhouse
Hollywood Burger isn’t so much a new restaurant as a burger shop that’s been on our radar since its opening. In theory, it’s open late each day and even offers delivery service, but the reality is that you might not find anyone there if you stop by or call in the afternoon. Once you do manage to get in the door, however, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the fun décor featuring cult movie posters (courtesy of the restaurant’s owners, who also have a film production company) as well as a nostalgic Street Fighter console that instantly transports you back to the ’80s. Hollywood Burger also screens classic movies like Back to the Future from time to time, as well as running an internet radio station (www.geyikciftligi.tv) from the second floor.
When it comes to its burgers, Hollywood pays close attention to each ingredient: the meat patties are made from beef rib eye that’s aged for 28 days to maximize its texture and flavor, while the slightly sweet bread comes from a bakery in Çamlıca. The classic burger with tomatoes and lettuce costs 20 TL; the Hollywood burger with cheddar cheese, 22 TL; and the burger with beef bacon, double cheddar and special sauces, 27 TL. The burgers come with fries as well as Hollywood’s specialty, fried carrots. If you’re particularly hungry, you can upgrade your meat patty from 120 g to 240 g for an additional 5 TL. Hollywood’s hot dogs are also worth a mention, though with such flavorful burgers, we’d be hard pressed to look elsewhere.
