L.A. ranks as one of the wealthiest cities in the world in this new survey

Anyone who has ever taken a stroll around Santa Monica or driven through Beverly Hills can tell you that Los Angeles is home to the rich and famous—and the annual World’s Wealthiest Cities Report from Henley & Partners can officially confirm that. The yearly survey ranks the 50 wealthiest cities around the world, and Los Angeles lands in fifth place. Three other American cities cracked the top 10, including New York, the Bay Area and Chicago. The global ranking is “the definitive guide to city wealth,” published annually by Henley & Partners in partnership with wealth intelligence firm New World Wealth. The report identifies exactly where all of those mythical millionaires and billionaires apparently live throughout the globe and provides a comprehensive review of the 50 wealthiest cities in the world, with “expert insights on economic mobility, prime property, the investment migration sector and wealth management.” The researchers specifically pointed out that Los Angeles is now home to 516 centimillionaires, people whose net worth exceeds $100 million, and 45 billionaires.  “The centimillionaires are arguably the most important wealth band when it comes to wealth creation due to the large percentage of entrepreneurs in this segment,” reads the report. “It is worth noting that most of the companies on the Fortune 500, S&P 500, FTSE 100 and Nikkei 225 were started by individuals who went on to become centi-millionaires.” Between 2014 and 2024, Los Angeles saw its millionaire

Blink-182 Announces Missionary Impossible Tour: Everything You Need to Know about Tickets, Dates & Presale

Watching. Waiting. Commiserating. However you’d like to conduct yourself at Blink-182’s next show, it’s time to book your ticket. The ‘90s skate punk group returns this summer with its Missionary Impossible tour. Chicago’s punchy goth kids, Alkaline Trio, will join as the opening act. Likely missing in action will be Alkaline Trio’s drummer, Derek Grant, who departed the band in 2023. Despite entering their 50s, the group hasn’t lost its impish spirit. “This message will self-destruct…in your pants,” reads the tour announcement on Instagram. The two bands have shared DNA beyond their pedigrees in the late ‘90s pop-punk scene and penchant for mining adolescent angst. Matt Skiba, the co-founder and lead guitarist for Alkaline Trio, stepped in after Blink guitarist Tom DeLonge left the band in 2015. Skiba recorded two albums with Blink, 2016’s California and 2019’s Nine, before DeLonge returned in 2022. If you’re looking to scratch that Blink itch, you can read up on the band: frontman Mark Hoppus’ new memoir, Fahrenheit-182, is out in stores now. Written with former VICE music journalist Dan Ozzi, Hoppus goes behind the scenes of Blink-182, detailing the band’s rocky history and Hoppus’ own battle with cancer. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming concerts. How to get tickets for Blink-182's Missionary Impossible tour: Artist pre-sale tickets are live now, with prices ranging from $200 to $800 on Ticketmaster. General public passes will go on sale this Friday, A
How to see the pink micromoon from Chicago this weekend

How to see the pink micromoon from Chicago this weekend

This weekend, Chicagoans looking for a bit of celestial fun should stare up at the sky to catch a beautiful pink "micromoon" that's likely going to be visible on Saturday night.  Unlike a blood moon, named after its sanguine hue, the pink moon doesn’t get its moniker from its tone. It also might be a bit trickier to see with the naked eye—but here is everything we know about the astrological event, including how to maximize your chances of witnessing it in all of its glory. What is a pink micromoon? Let's start with the basics.  The Old Farmer’s Almanac named April’s full moon after creeping phlox or moss phlox, a small pink flower that blooms in early spring and spreads across the ground in dense clusters like moss. Sometimes called Paschal, the moon will rise one week before Easter. This year’s moon is also a micromoon. Stargazers may be familiar with a supermoon, which occurs when a full moon is closest to Earth during its orbit, making it appear larger and brighter. A micromoon, on the other hand, happens when the moon is furthest away from earth, a point known as its apogee. That means the moon may appear smaller and duller, though the difference will be subtle. When will the micromoon be visible from Chicago?   A full pink moon will be visible from Chicago Saturday inght at 7:23pm, according to the Farmer’s Almanac. Visibility could be spotty, though, given partly cloudy skies giving way to full coverage as the night progresses. So make sure to look up in the early even
