You won’t struggle to find somewhere to buy fruits and vegetables in Mumbai. It doesn’t take long to realise that, and sometimes the city can resemble a sprawling collection of markets with people and buildings sitting between the gaps. That isn’t entirely true, but Mumbai has a way of making it feel like the world exists within the place you find yourself, whether thats the parks, the bars, the restaurants or the museums. But the markets, wow. Even if you’re not in the market for fresh produce, exploring the best markets in Mumbai is an experience all in itself. Each neighbourhood in the city has a government-appointed area for such things, interspersed with cupcake moulds, antique gewgaws, wedding bangles and who knows what else. The most liveable city in India? Pune certainly has that reputation and the reasons why seem to stack up endlessly. A massive student population and a burgeoning technology sector help, but it is the stream of things to do in Pune that make the city so exciting. Pune is arguably India’s most modern city, exemplified through the collection of museums, galleries, restaurants, pubs and cafes, though don’t assume that Pune loses sight of its roots as a result. This city is often called the ‘Venice of the East’ and while this may be a slight exaggeration, the best things to do in Udaipur, all within a strones throw of numerous lakes and bridges, certainly lend it a unique charm. Seemingly frozen in time, this historical city still has a palace with a royal family in residence.
