9 best Airbnbs for ski getaways from NYC for a cozy trip to the slopes

9 best Airbnbs for ski getaways from NYC for a cozy trip to the slopes

The best winter getaways from NYC all have a few things in common: charming aesthetics, snug blankets, steaming cups of hot chocolate, and oodles of snow. It also helps if they're situated near the mountains (or even in them) so that you can spend some time skiing all over the place (hopefully with no broken bones). These remarkable Airbnbs check all the boxes, and they are all right by the best ski resorts near NYC including Belleayre Mountain Ski Center (the closest to the city) and Hunter Mountain Resort. Whether you’d like to book a weekend trip within easy reach of the Big Apple or want to go the whole hog and take a full week out on the slopes, there are loads of cabins near NYC to rent on Airbnb. Beautiful chalets, contemporary condos, and 19th-century farmhouses all appear on our list of Airbnbs near the slopes. Don’t forget your gloves – although, if you did, you could always turn back for them as some of these are less than two hours from Manhattan.  Wondering when the perfect time is to venture out to the mountains? Snow conditions are at their best from January to March – this also lowers your chances of getting caught up on big crowds, as you'll be avoiding the Christmas peak.  RECOMMENDED: 🗽Find more weekend getaways from NYC🛏 Check out the best Airbnbs with hot tubs in New York🪩 See the coolest Airbnb treehouse rentals near NYC⛰️ The coziest Airbnb cabins near NYC This guide was recently updated by former Time Out New York Editor, Annalise Mantz. At Time O
The best hotels in San Antonio

The best hotels in San Antonio

San Antonio isn’t just the best day (or weekend) trip to take from Austin anymore; it's a destination in its own right, filled with incredible cuisine, fun time bars, gorgeous hotels, fascinating historical structures, and much more. Time your visit for the annual fiesta celebration or the rodeo, and you’ll need a whole itinerary that requires some forward planning, especially when it comes to accommodation.  Here’s a tip: the bulk of tourist activity happens along the River Walk, and this is where you’ll want to be based. Luckily, there are lots of hotels primely positioned along or at least near it, along with resorts further afield where the point is to get away from the bustle. From right-on-the-water happening hangouts to charming boutiques by the Alamo to family-friendly spa resorts a short drive away, here are our favorite stays and the best hotels in San Antonio. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall, much of the residential property in and around Prague’s historic centre was swiftly converted into hotels. The 13 best hotels in Venice

The 13 best hotels in Venice

Made up of over 100 small islands with no roads, only canals, it's no wonder the city is known as the 'City of Canals'. Feeling a lot more like a fairytale than a modern European metropolis, Venice is the hub for romance and is classic right down to its core. So, of course, it makes sense that the hotels are opulent, charming, and stuffed with antiques of the city's history.  Luckily, this Old-World city also has a few modern retreats tucked away along its canals, as well as discrete country homes and family-run pensione a short vaporetto ride from the major attractions and museums. There are also budget-busting options for those hoping to book a stay like true Italian aristocracy (as well as budget-friendly, cheap hotel options). Regardless of the style, with only so much space and serious restrictions on any new construction, accommodation in the city is at a serious premium and should be booked as far in advance as possible. Here are some of the best hotels to help you decide where to stay in Venice. Updated March 2025: Thought this list was missing something? Us too. Which is why we've added a sumptuous five-star classic and a contemporary gem for you to consider. Crockfords Las Vegas, LXR Hotels & Resorts at Resorts World

Crockfords Las Vegas, LXR Hotels & Resorts at Resorts World

4 out of 5 stars
If I said that my stay at this hotel close to the Strip was pleasant, the understatement would be almost laughable. It’s a total doozy. Modern, refined, and about as luxe as it gets (yep, even for Vegas), I loved it. As soon as I walked into the lobby I could see why this is firmly on a lot of hit lists, even though it only opened back in 2021. The check-in process was slick as anything, with staff courteous and a lot of fun. My room – a superior king with a city view – was one of the cheaper options but boy was it swanky, with gorgeous marble tiling in the bathroom, loads of space, and quite possibly the comfiest bed I’ve ever flopped down on. The only downer? No bath. But I coped. You’re close to all the action, with the North Strip becoming more and more of a draw these days but because the hotel is part of the Resorts World Las Vegas, there’s a huge amount right nearby. From the 40 restaurants I heard a lot of people talking about the seafood at Aqua, but I really liked the Michelin-starred dumplings at Ah Chun Shandong. Bliss. And look, like any (decent?) Vegas hotel, you’re not going to stay here on the cheap, so do expect to splash out if you’re here for a few days. But you know what? It’s worth it. A great hotel.
