Orlando’s Mills50 neighborhood is filled with unique dining options, from traditional Lao cuisine to ramen hot spots. One of the most viral (and well-deserved) new spots in the neighborhood is UniGirl, an onigiri shop inside the Mills Market.
Every day, the shop makes fresh Japanese stuffed rice balls called onigiri, which are filled with everything from tuna and fried chicken to shrimp tempura and spicy salmon. If you’re feeling really adventurous, consider the unagi, a fan-favorite stuffed with barbecued freshwater eel and a sweet and sticky sauce. Don’t forget to look in the refrigerator for additional sides and drinks to go with your onigiri. You’ll find everything from potato salad to house-made mocktails behind the glass doors.
After enjoying my fill of onigiri, I like to walk around the Mills Market, which is home to five different Asian food stalls, including ones specializing in Bahn mi and Cantonese cuisine. This is definitely the spot to hang out if you want to try a little of everything.
