We’ve all heard of the Orient Express, but what about the Norient Express? No, that’s not a typo – instead, it’s the name of a dazzling new service which is set to launch through Norway (get it?).

Due to launch in autumn 2025, the inaugural service of this dazzling train is, obvs, still a while away, but there’s plenty to be excited about. Firstly, because of the carriages themselves – two trains will be ferrying passengers on this service, and both boast super comfy interiors made from natural materials, plus an exercise room and an observatory. Pretty snazzy, right?

What’s more, both trains are electrically powered, making it an environmentally-friendly way to explore the landscape. Train travel is already a good way to travel more sustainably, but electric trains with lower emissions? Sign us up.

And then there’s the journey itself – starting in Bergen, the service will journey southeast towards and through Oslo before turning and heading north to end in Trondheim. Over the six days of travel, you’ll see drop-dead gorgeous mountains, serene lakes and a whole lot more.

Details about launch dates and ticket prices are yet to be unveiled. But here at Time Out, we’re big fans of all things trains, so you can bet we’ll bring you all the latest info. Stay tuned for updates.
