While we still have the Paralympics to keep us gawping at the talent of athletes and laughing at all the memes in a few weeks’ time, those will undoubtedly go by as fast as the Olympics did – and it’s still four years until the next Olympic city lights its torch and welcomes thousands of spectators at LA 2028.
But 2026 doesn’t feel so far away, and excitingly that’s when the Winter Games will be gracing our screens. 116 events will take place across 16 sports, ensuring lots more funny, iconic and awe-inspiring competitions, so here is everything you need to know about when and where they’ll kick off.

Where are the next Winter Olympics?
The 2026 Winter Olympics will be hosted by Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, but events will take place across three regions which include the host cities as well as Verona, Valtellina, Val di Fiemme and Rasen-Antholz.
When are the Winter Olympics
The Milan Winter Olympics will kick off on Friday February 6 and conclude on Sunday February 22, 2026.
Tickets

Host cities after 2026
France is getting another go at hosting, as the 2030 Winter Games are set to take place in the French Alps. As for 2034, those Games will take place in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the 2038 Games will take place in Switzerland.
