It’s official: Time Out Market Dubai is open for business!
Visitors to the market can now sample the best of the city’s culinary talent and culture under one roof, with a line-up of top chefs carefully curated by Time Out Dubai editors. The attraction is in a prime spot in Downtown Dubai’s Souk Al Bahar and offers incredible views from its outdoor terrace over the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain.
Earlier this month we held an opening party for VIP guests, with four artists from art institute Tashkeel creating live pieces around drinkers and diners. And there was just as much to see outside, as the neighbouring Burj – the world’s tallest building, FYI – lit up with projections of Time Out’s logo and previous magazine covers.
The 43,000-square-foot Time Out Market space is home to 17 eateries, three huge bars, and will host a vibey programme of cultural events. Among the local food favourites on the line-up are MASTI, BB Social Dining, Vietnamese Foodies, Pickl, Pitfire, Brix by 3fils, Nightjar, Reif Japanese Kushiyaki, Little Erth, Scoopi Café, Long Teng and Al Fanar.
There are also all-new ventures including folly Workshop by Nick & Scott, Fulvio’s, Two Leaves by Project Chaiwala, Local Fire by The Mattar Farm and Liban by Allo Beirut.
Three bars – the Fountain, Atrium and Palace – surround the open dining areas, serving mixes inspired by other Time Out Markets around the world, from Lisbon to Montreal via Miami.
The space itself should also prove a draw for visitors. High terracotta columns aim to put a modern spin on the traditional Middle Eastern marketplace, while a dramatic glass ceiling allows visitors to look up at the Burj.
To start with, the market has opened in accordance with the UAE’s Covid-19 guidelines, running at a reduced capacity and with social distancing measures in place.
So, ready for a truly out-of-this-world culinary experience? See you at the Souk – whenever you can make it over to Dubai.
