After months of anticipation, Time Out Market Barcelona is finally here! That’s right – from today, Friday July 5, you can indulge in the finest food from the city’s most outstanding chefs and restaurateurs, all under one beautiful roof.

Time Out Market Barcelona sprawls over 5,000 square metres, and it’s set to become a must-visit for anyone passionate about food, culture, and the lively, pulsing city of Barcelona. Here’s a sneak peek of the spectacular space.

The Market is easy to find: it’s located at the end of the Rambla del Mar, which is just across the road from La Rambla itself. Cross the pedestrian bridge over the water, and look for the big red escalator. (Or if you want to work up an appetite with some shopping, take the escalators from inside the Maremagnum shopping centre.)

Time Out Market Barcelona is flooded with natural light, full of lush greenery, and surrounded by terraces with stunning views of Port Vell, Barcelona’s city harbour. The restaurants are spread throughout the whole space, serving up everything from gourmet cuisine and Catalan classics to sushi, burgers and pizzas. Its open kitchen layout means diners can watch the chefs in action, and there’s plenty of space at the communal tables for big groups to all eat together.

Another word on those terraces. These have got to be a highlight of the site, thanks to the cracking views they offer over the port. Two of them are connected, forming an L-shape with views of the W Hotel, while the third terrace, home to a new outpost for the Paradiso cocktail bar, is the perfect spot to gaze out over the Gothic Quarter.

Thirsty? As well as Paradiso, the Time Out Bar and the Estrella Damm Bar will be shaking, stirring, mixing and pouring a huge range of exciting bevvies (plus alcohol-free options, of course). A fourth bar, this one outside on the rooftop, will open very soon.

And it’s not just about food and drinks. Culture is core to what we do at Time Out, and it’s at the heart of this project too. A grand circular stage takes, well, centre stage – hosting a packed programme of local talents like drag queen Sarah Brown, who performs on Thursday afternoons; DJ HALL’s Saturday night sessions; and family-friendly activities every weekend.

What’s more, two stunning murals by local artists Marina Capdevila and Amaia Arrazola help add a bit of colour to the place, showcasing their interpretation of Barcelona.

It all sounds pretty cool, right? Well, this hub of enticing dishes and feel-good culture is ready and waiting for you. If you’re visiting Barcelona this summer, make sure you drop by. And if you’re not, start planning!
