This Italian city has been crowned the world’s best food destination

Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards have weighed in on the best places for foodies on the planet – don your napkin and tuck in

We already have a brilliant roundup of the best cities in the world for food, which is compiled based on a survey of thousands of locals. But if you’re hungry for more, we’ve got some good news. 

One of the many categories evaluated by Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards, released this week, is a roundup of the best food destinations on the planet. And for 2025, it’s Rome that claimed the top spot. 

Given Italy also dominated this ranking of the best food destinations by TasteAtlas back in December, we’re hardly shocked. Have a read of the best places to get pizza, pasta, gelato and our favourite restaurants in Italy’s glorious capital on our Rome food hub

In third place, it was Marrakech, which is jam-packed with everything from authentic Moroccan eateries to flashy seafood restaurants, and it’s just down the road from our pick for the world’s very best steak!
