On the hunt for the Middle East’s most totally OTT and glamorous hotels? Well, look no further than the winners of the World Travel Awards Middle East, which were announced at a ceremony in the Ritz-Carlton in Amman, Jordan and featured a bucketload of mega-fancy hotels.
The most prestigious hotel award of the night was ‘The Middle East’s Leading Hotel’, which went to… the Jumeirah Al Naseem in Dubai! You’ll find it in the Umm Suqeim neighbourhood, and it comes with a private beach area, a spa centre, world-class dining and even its own turtle rehabilitation sanctuary.
The Al Naseem is part of the UAE’s state-owned hotel chain Jumeirah, which has a bit of a rep for luxury. And it has the top-tier prices to boot: prices start at around £462 ($524) per night – and that’s for a basic room. Some of the most expensive rooms cost well over £10,000 ($11,340) per night. Here are a few more pics of the place.
You can enquire about booking a room or suite at the Jumeirah Al Naseem here. If mega-fancy Dubai resort hotels are your cuppa tea, there are unlikely to be many places better.
But it wasn’t the only Middle Eastern spot to win big at the World Travel Awards. Here’s who picked up the other big hotel awards.
Jumeirah Al Naseem, Dubai, UAE (Leading Hotel)
Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates Dubai, UAE (Leading Leisure Hotel)
One&Only The Palm, Dubai, UAE (Leading Honeymoon Resort)
Sofitel Dubai The Palm, UAE (Leading Green Hotel)
Bvlgari Resort Dubai, UAE (Leading Design Hotel)
Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, Abu Dhabi, UAE (Leading Desert Resort)
InterContinental Dubai – Festival City, UAE (Leading City Hotel)
Alila Jabal Akhdar, Oman (Leading Boutique Hotel)
Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa, Dubai, UAE (Leading Beach Resort)
Yep, that’s a lot of gongs for Dubai.
It’s worth mentioning that the WTAs are decided by votes. Both consumers and travel industry professionals get a say, with a greater weighting given to the latter.
