Exciting news: Time Out’s annual ranking of the very best cities in the world has just been released.
Of the 50 cities that made the list, 16 are located in Europe. The UK scored big with four cities making the ranking, but it was the eternally-cool Berlin that can claim the title of Europe’s best city, as it ranked third overall after New York and Cape Town. London came in fourth place – you can read more about that here.
Are we really that surprised that the German capital did so well? Berlin is bursting with amazing things to do, restaurants, brunch spots and some unmissable museums – we’ve even planned out the perfect weekend itinerary.
And it’s not just cracking dining and artwork that have earned this city its ‘cool’ reputation. Berlin’s offering of nightlife spots is unmatched by anywhere else – check out our roundups of the very best nightclubs and bars to see for yourself.
2024’s best cities list was created in partnership with Potentia Insight, who helped us survey thousands of city-dwellers from across the planet on everything from the affordability and quality of food, culture and nightlife to how happy they are and how easy it is to make friends. Our local writers on the ground gave us their insight into what makes their cities great places to be right now, too.
And when it came to the big numbers, Berlin’s nightlife had an impressive 82 percent approval rating – they do like to party, after all.
You can read even more about why Berlin, and those other 49 cracking cities, have been crowned the best of the best right here.
