Valentine’s Day is still a month away, but for all the loved-up travellers among us, there’s not a bad time of year to get away for a romantic break.

And Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards are here to help. The review platform’s roundup for 2025 has included lists of the best solo travel destinations, the top places for culture and food, as well as which spots are trending right now – but it’s also shed light on the world’s best honeymoon destinations

Topping the list is Mauritius, the beautiful east African island which sits in the Indian Ocean and brags a lovely tropical climate. Port Louis is the island’s capital, and here you can explore its market and refurbed waterfront, or you can venture to the slower-paced coastal resorts, known for their incredible beaches and crisp, clear water.

‘Visitors gravitate toward resort areas such as Mont Choisy, quiet Trou-aux-Biches and the more bustling Flic en Flac, popular with scuba divers. Rivière Noire is ideal for those looking for great deep-sea fishing,’ said Tripadvisor.

In second place is Bali and in third place it’s the Maldives – in fact, the whole list is dominated by island getaways. Read on for the top 10, or check out the full list here
