Skiing – while you can shoop shoop down the slopes all day til your heart’s content, it’s not really a solo kinda holiday, is it?
For many people, skiing holidays are about the socialising just as much as they’re about the snow. But which ski resorts offer the best opportunities for making friends? New research from transport booking platform Omio (which also evaluated the cheapest, most beginner-friendly and best resorts overall), has found the world’s most sociable skiing spots.
The list was created by analysing the number of events on offer, the availability of skiing schools and the overall reviews by skiers. Eight of the friendliest resorts are in Austria – eight!
Claiming the top spot was Silvretta Arena (Ischgl/Samnaun), which scored 99.52 overall, has an average of 4.8 out of five for reviews and a programme of 11 events.
In third place was Arosa Lenzerheide in Switzerland, which scored 98.44 overall, and in fourth place it was Val Gardena in Italy, which scored 98.20. Check out the Austria-dominated list below!
