Depending on where you grew up, you might never have considered the power your passport holds before, but it actually has an enormous impact on where you can travel without a visa.
The Henley Passport Index, which releases a ranking four times per year, has just unveiled the power list for July 2024, and there have been quite some changes since its January release.
The top spot is now occupied solely by Singapore, which has stormed to the top thanks to gaining access to another visa-free destination, bringing the nation’s total up to 195 places. France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain, which used to accompany Singapore at the top of the ranking, are now all in second place, with 194 visa-free destinations.
Seven countries occupy third place with 191 visa-free destinations, including Ireland and South Korea, and six are sitting in fourth place, including the UK, with 190 – you can read more about the UK passport’s position here.
