We know a fair bit about where in the world it’s good to drink beer – there’s a ranking on the cheapest (and spenniest) places, the best destinations in Europe which aren’t Munich as well as a guide to Oktoberfest – but what about wine?

A new study by Magnet Kitchens has used data from Numbeo to analyse 190 cities across the world, and it’s produced a list of the cheapest cities on the planet to cop a bottle of vino. Sitting right at the top of the shelf are two cities, Córdoba, one of Spain’s most underrated cities, and the Italian capital, Rome

So, how much will a bottle of wine actually set you back? Well, according to the study, it’s as little as £2.80 (around €3.35), but both countries have plenty of other cities where wine is under £4.

Reggio Calabria and Taranto in Italy are both in the top 10, too, but Spain claims an impressive six spots, with Zaragoza, Murcia, Alicante, Malaga and Corunna also making the ranking, with the highest average being just £3.87. £3.87

You can read about the study in more detail here, which also includes the city in the world where it’s most expensive to buy wine (New York, we’re looking at you).
