Marseille was arguably the go-to destination of 2024, but where are all the cool kids headed next?
American Express Travel has just dropped its annual hotlist of Trending Destinations, selected based on card member travel bookings and insight from the company’s travel consultants, who have kept Millenial and Gen Z travellers in particular in mind.
So which destinations made the cut? Well, Amex Travel’s list is not ranked, but it does include ten fantastic spots from all over the planet. One of them is Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, which is apparently ‘starting to compete with Sydney and Melbourne on the cultural front, with modern architecture, excellent museums, vibrant dining and nightlife options.’
Also making the cut is Franschhoek, a small South African town nestled in the country’s winelands, which was also put on the map recently as the home of Africa’s very best restaurant, according to the World Culinary Awards.
In Europe, Brittany and Paros both made the list, too – you can check out the 10 trending destinations below.
These are the trending destinations for Millenials and Gen Z travellers, according to American Express
- Brisbane, Australia
- Brittany, France

- Koh Samui, Thailand
- Macau, China
