These are the best destinations for digital nomads in 2024

The Global Digital Nomad Report assessed 12 factors such as visa application costs, healthcare, income requirements and internet speed

With working from home being the new norm, plenty of us now have the opportunity to up sticks and move somewhere new, and the list of countries offering digital nomad visas is only getting longer. 

But the choice can be a little overwhelming. That’s why it’s handy to have the Global Digital Nomad Report on hand to point us in the right direction. The latest report has looked into 12 factors across five categories to reveal which global destinations are best for digital nomads in 2024. 

The factors considered by Global Citizens Solutions are visa costs (application costs and income requirements), visa benefits (duration, path to citizenship and possibility of extension), quality of life (climate, security, healthcare, pollution, English proficiency), economics (cost of living, tax optimisation and coworking desk price), and tech and innovation (internet speed and global innovation index or world intellectual property organisation). 

According to this research, Spain is the very best destination for digital nomads in 2024. It scores the highest for visa benefits with 98.67 and second highest for tech innovation with 90.84. It falls behind in economics with a score of 82.16 (the highest is Romania with 91.22), but got an overall score of 98.12. 

In second place is the Netherlands with an overall score of 86.26 (though the Dutch have the highest quality of life score at 98). In third place is Norway, which follows closely behind with 86.20. Have a read of the top 15 below.
