Picking an airport usually means just going for the one nearest to where you live, but when it comes to choosing an airline? The options are wide open – depending on your budget, obviously.

To help you decide, Forbes have just launched their first ever verified air travel awards. The publication asked 5,000 travel experts to weigh in on 22 different categories, including best international airline and airport.

The results of that survey were validated by the team at Forbes Travel Guide, and claiming the crown as the best international hub was Singapore Changi Airport

Though this airport recently had its crown taken by Doha Hamad Airport at the Skytrax World Airport Awards (which is based on customer satisfaction surveys), it’s clearly doing something right – it serves 100 different airlines and boasts a butterfly garden, cinema and swimming pool, after all.

And which international airline was crowned the best in the world, you ask? Well, it was (drum roll, please) Emirates. Given the airline has also featured in the top five spots on rankings by the Telegraph, Travel + Leisure, CN Traveller and the World Airline Awards recently, we’re hardly surprised.
