Netflix is no stranger to clever advertising, but it’s been smashing it in Madrid recently. First of all came the billboard advertising a new season of the world’s most anticipated series: ‘The street’. Now a new poster bearing the Netflix logo has been drawing attention in the Spanish capital.
More than a year has passed since the last season of ‘Black Mirror’, the dystopian series exploring a society not so far from our own. And there aren’t any new episodes currently in production, according to creator Charlie Brooker. ‘At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those,’ he told the Radio Times last month.
However, in 2020 it seems difficult to imagine any episodes that are more shocking than the situation we’re all experiencing IRL. And so, a new billboard in Madrid announces that the sixth season of ‘Black Mirror’ has already been released around the world. It’s called reality.

(It’s important to note at this point that the poster isn’t an official Netflix campaign. In fact, it’s been posted by students working with Spanish ad agency Brother. Netflix itself hasn’t yet commented on the unofficial billboard.)
Now: please can we watch something else? Because this current season is really starting to drag.
