Already dreading the family arguments and Christmas dinner-induced stress? Well, the Grinch’s lair is now taking bookings – so you could just run away to Mount Crumpit and escape the holiday madness there.
The Dr Seuss anti-hero spent his time stewing in his lair, which has now been faithfully recreated by rental firm Vacasa. The remote property is based just outside of Whoville (Boulder, Utah to us), and even comes with its own organ and drum set, so you can recreate your favourite bits from ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’.
There’s plenty of room to sequester stolen presents, including a main bedroom, a guest bedroom, a study, two bathrooms and a music room. And trust us, it’s not just the furniture that looks fit for the Grinch: if you hunt hard enough, you’ll find pairs of green pants, a Santa costume and half-created Who-contraptions. Plus, there’s Who-pudding, Who-hash and roast beef in the kitchen, in case you get hungry.
Bookings are open for a limited time only on Vacasa, with stays available from December 13 to 23. It’s only $19.57 a night (that’s the year the book was first released), but if you don’t manage to get a space, you can also take a virtual tour here.
