Revealed: the world’s cheapest countries to travel to in 2025

A new study has looked into the average daily budget for one person across multiple countries, and the results are in

Heading to a destination which is known for its affordability can alleviate a whole load of travel stress – what’s better than enjoying your getaway and not fretting about how much you’re spending? 

HelloSafe has conducted a study to determine where in the world has the lowest average daily budget for one person, and the destinations in this roundup are jaw-droppingly affordable. 

Topping the list is Laos, a beautiful country on the backpacker trail in southeast Asia, sandwiched between Thailand and Vietnam. The average daily spend for one traveller here per day is just £10 (€12) – £10!

In second place, it’s Kazakhstan, where the average spend per day is £14 (€16.82), and in third place it’s Rwanda, where the average spend is £16 (€19.22) – what a bargain, eh? Nowhere in the list has an average spend of more than £30 per day, and they’re predominantly spread across Africa and Asia – check out the list below.
