Skiing has always had a bit of a rep as an exclusive, expensive pastime. But there are plenty of beginner-friendly and budget-friendly resorts, as well as inclusive skiing groups, that have made the sport much more accessible.

And even the seasoned skiers among us might be looking to freshen things up this year – searches for classic destinations like France and Italy are down 36 percent in 2024, after all – and luckily for them, we’ve got some brand-new inspo.

Travel money platform eurochange have outlined some of the best lesser-known ski resorts on offer across Europe (with a US destination thrown in, just for good measure) and the first one is Bovorets, a ski resort in Bulgaria.

This place definitely doesn’t slack on the scenery, but its bargain prices are what we’re really here to talk about. At Bovorets, lift passes start from just £29 per day, and a beer? That will only set you back £1.80.

Elsewhere on the list is Livingo, an Italian resort nestled in the heart of the Alps, if you don’t want to stray too far from tradition. A three-course meal here will cost you around £31, and a glass of wine just £3.09.

And if you fancy trying out some American slopes, eurochange recommends Eagle Point Resort in Utah, especially if you’re up for some longer, more challenging ski belts through the Tushar Mountains.
