No, you're not experiencing déjà vu – if this headline looks familiar, it's because it is. Back in March, Krispy Kreme became one of the first big-name brands to encourage Americans to get the Covid-19 vaccine. How? With free doughnuts, of course. The still-ongoing promotion allows anyone to flash their vaccine card to cash in on a gratis original glazed confection – no questions asked.
But now – with the Delta variant causing cases to surge again – Krispy Kreme is sweetening the deal in an effort to encourage even more Americans to get the jab. From Monday, August 30 through Sunday, September 5, anyone who shows proof of vaccination will be rewarded with two free doughnuts a day – no purchase necessary. If you're doing the math, that's 14 heavenly scented pastries at no cost.
'We all hoped we'd be near the end of this pandemic by now. We're not,' says Krispy Kreme CMO Dave Skena. 'So, please consider getting vaccinated if you've not done so already. And then enjoy and share two amazing doughnuts with our heart-felt thanks.'
Can't make it to Krispy Kreme next week? You can still take advantage of the original deal, which gets you one free doughnut daily through the end of the year when you show proof of vaccination. Allow us to be your human calculator once again: If you start today, that's 159 free breakfasts courtesy of Krispy Kreme. What are you waiting for?
