Hotels vary enormously in their size, locations, decor and amenities, but given there are just so many to choose from, there’s nothing like the voice of Tripadvisor users to determine which are the very best in the world.
And the website’s Travellers’ Choice Hotel Awards have spoken. Review data from the last year of more than 1.6 million hotels listed on Tripadvisor have been analysed, and organised into categories such as best all-inclusives, B&Bs, boutique, pet-friendly and sustainable options.
But what we’re most interested in is the best of the best: the top hotels in the world. And claiming that prestigious top spot is Brazil’s Hotel Colline de France. The boutique hotel has ranked in at least the top five for the last three years and has more than 4,000 5-star reviews.
It boasts an indoor pool as well as a spa and wellness centre, and the place is absolutely dripping in opulent French-style decor and is renowned for its super-personal service.
In second place was the OBLU SELECT Lobigili in the Maldives, a stunning paradise-like hotel right on the waterfront, and in third it’s La Siesta Hoi An Resort & Spa in Vietnam, a sprawling getaway which has not two but three gorgeous outdoor pools.
Dan Mitchell, vice president and general manager hotels, Tripadvior, said: ‘Our Best of the Best Hotels are marvels, acclaimed by thousands of travellers for their remarkable service, stunning design, and wealth of amenities that redefine what it means to have an exceptional hotel experience.’
And exceptional they are – here are the best hotels in the world, according to Tripadvisor.
