What’s your favourite city for a gig or a night out? Whether you’re a Berghain regular or counting down the days to London’s festival season, every European city has its own thing going on.
Travel booking site Omio has looked into the number of open-air music festivals, gig venues and nightclubs, as well as the price of a concert and music ticket, across 50 cities in Europe to name the continent’s very best music destinations in 2025. To create the final ranking, each city has been given a total score out of 100.
Topping the list is London, which has an expensive average ticket price for both musicals and gigs, but also has 75 nightclubs, 26 concert halls and 25 music festivals according to the study, giving it an overall score of 100.

Even the crowning city’s music scene isn’t without its problems – Mayor of London Sadiq Khan recently announced plans to launch a ‘nightlife taskforce’ to help support the city’s struggling venues. However, plenty of brilliant nights out are still going strong.
Paris came in second place with a score of 89.4, and Budapest came in third place 77.5. In fourth place is world-renowned music magnet Berlin, which scored 75.1 overall. Despite missing out on a top-three position, the German capital was recently named Europe’s best city for live music in this study and ranked as the top European destination in our latest list of the world’s best cities for nightlife.
