For clubbers, there’s no better place than Ibiza. The island is home to some of Europe’s (and the world’s) biggest and flashiest superclubs, including Hï Ibiza, recently named the best nightclub in the world.

And next year, the Spanish party island is planning to go even harder. Thanks to the help of a publicity stunt with Will Smith, the opening of a brand-new ‘hyperclub’ has just been announced.

After posting a video of himself on Instagram having apparently experienced a ‘UFO sighting’, the US movie star rocks up to a building site and meets Yann Pissenem, CEO of The Night League which is behind world-famous Ibiza institutions Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza.

Look familiar? That’s because this ‘hyper-club’, which will be named [UNVRS] (pronounced ‘universe’, btw), is on the site of the former superclub Privilege. We knew the club was due to reopen in 2025 – and now we know as what!

But what exactly is a hyper-club? While the definition is a little vague, Pissenemen told Billboard: ‘[The space] offers the best elements of a club, the infrastructure of an arena, and the best hospitality in the world. [UNVRS] is about attention to granular detail, from the finishes across the venue to the unique experiences our guests will never forget. It’s a space that retains the raw energy of a rave, connecting the present and future within the walls of stunning architecture.’

Based on what we learnt about the renovations of Privilege, the club could have a new capacity of a staggering 15,000 people. Stay tuned for more details on the opening date of [UNVRS] and news on what the space will look like.
