Yes it's Friday, and one of them good ones where we have a long weekend!

If you're looking for something to pass the afternoon away, or to accompany you while you chill at home on the weekend mornings, why not check out some new tunes?

Good idea, innit.

Yeah. We've rounded up a couple good picks to get started with too. A mix of albums and singles. Have a good day!

Albums

life's a beach, easy life.

Lower-case indie rockers have released their debut album, after years of building, and building, and building up a loyal fanbase and acclaim.

The album is as chill as the name suggests. Fans of Jamie T and Mac Miller will likely be into it. Blending R&B with arena indie influence, and gritty spoken-word in an unapologetic Leicestershire twang.

It's clear why they have risen to prominence. Well worth a listen.

You can stream the album here.

little BIG man, Wretch 32

Is this an LP or an EP? We're not sure. Nine tracks, clocking in around half an hour... a project? Yeah.

This project is the latest release from Wretch, following on from his 2019 Upon Reflection album in 2019 and a handful of singles between then and now.

As per all Wretch 32 projects, the record balances light afrobeat, grime, and drill beats with political lyricism. As always, Wretch's flow is unrivalled.

If you don't know much about Wretch 32, one of the best artists around, this is a good and culturally relevant place to start.

Singles

"Worth It For The Feeling", Rebecca Black

It's Friday, Friday, Gotta get down on Friday singer Rebecca Black has released a single and it's good. Surprising? Maybe. But actually Rebecca Black has released quite a few songs that we would add into the 'decent' category since that Friday 10 years ago.

This song is kind of like a more laid-back pool lounging version of your Jessie Ware and Dua Lipa's. Thumping bass and pacy vocals join with nice falsetto and catchy choruses. It's worth a listen, honest!

"Mirror", Sigrid.

Sigrid is back with an absolute banger.

A really infectious bassy groove works well against Sigrid's chirpy singing. A summer anthem, cheese moments on the dancefloor to sing-alongs in the Uber right here.

Have you seen the Primavera 2022 line up? You really ought to.
