It’s time to once again say ‘’Ello’ Guv’nor’ as Guy Ritchie, the modern guru of British screen gangsters, returns with more tales of drugs, sex and rock ‘n’ roll in The Gentlemen.

A spin-off from his 2020 movie of the same name, The Gentlemen series launched on Netflix in March 2024 and rocketed to the top of the most-watched lists. Unsurprisingly, it’s been green lit for a second season with more sure to follow in the future.

Fresh from his success with his R-rated World War Two blockbuster Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Guy Ritchie is heading back to Halstead Manor, home of The Gentlemen.

Here’s all you need to know about season two of the Netflix drama.

Any news on the release date?

Netflix confirmed that filming for the second season won’t begin until 2025, so it’s likely that The Gentlemen will return to screens in 2026. Season two will consist of eight episodes.

The second season was announced when Netflix hijacked a London billboard with a very on-brand reveal. Check out the clip below to see the moment.

Who is in the cast of The Gentlemen?

Theo James (X-Men ‘97) will return as ‘Captain’ Eddie Horniman, who unexpectedly inherits a cannabis empire but soon gets a taste for the crime underworld and plays the gangsters, crooks and wrong’uns at their own game.

Kaya Scodelario (Skins) is confirmed to reprise her role as Susie Glass, who oversees her father’s criminal syndicate while he is in prison.

Daniel Ings (The Crown) will be back as Lord Freddy Horniman, Eddie’s unreliable older brother and resident family fuck-up, who juggles a cocaine addiction and working on the drug business.

Additional casting news for season two will be announced at a later date, but it's likely that both Ray Winstone and Giancarlo Esposito will return, after their crime kingpin characters were seen meeting up behind bars at the end of season one.

Guy Ritchie is confirmed to return as director and executive producer.

What happened in The Gentlemen season one?

The Gentlemen sees Eddie (James) unexpectedly inherit his father’s vast country estate – only to discover it’s home to a cannabis empire, run by kingpin Bobby Glass (Winstone).

Eddie soon finds himself having to fend off a host of unsavoury characters from Britain’s criminal underworld, who all want a piece of the operation.

In a bid to protect his family from the clutches of the criminals, Eddie tries to play the gangsters at their own game, but soon realises he has talents that come in useful as a crime boss, finding an ally in Susie Glass (Scodelario), a ruthless woman overseeing her father’s syndicate while he’s in prison.

The crime syndicate is put up for sale, with American meth dealer Stanley Johnston (Giancarlo Esposito), the most enthusiastic - and dangerous - prospective buyer.

The first season concluded with Eddie and Susie teaming up to take over control of the business, while Eddie and Stanley meet behind bars, setting up a dangerous coalition for the second season.

Where was The Gentlemen filmed?

Badminton House, Gloucestershire

Halstead Manor, the ancestral seat inherited by Theo James’s Eddie Halstead, was filmed at Gloucestershire’s Badminton House, actually the ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort – as well as venue for the Badminton Horse Trials.

Loseley Park, Guildford

This Tudor house in Surrey was the hero location in Ritchie’s 2020 movie, and while the series was mainly filmed at Badminton House, he returned to Loseley Park to capture some of Halstead Manor’s opulent inner sanctums and scenes in Halstead’s woods.

Wrotham Park, Hertfordshire

In ‘The Gentlemen’, American tycoon Stanley Johnston (Giancarlo Esposito) owns a lavish county pile of Bridgewater House. It was filmed at the neo-Palladian English country house of Wrotham Park, a location also used in ‘The Crown’ and season two of ‘Bridgerton’.

The Reform Club, Pall Mall

The Mayfair private members’ club has been welcoming gentlemen (and, since 1981, women) to its Italian Renaissance-style surrounds since the 1840s. In ‘The Gentlemen’ it doubles as Pinky’s Club, where Eddie meets Stanley Johnston.

Stoke Court, Buckinghamshire

This 15th century Grade II listed house outside of London was also used for Halstead Manor interiors, including the coked-up Freddy’s chicken-costumed humiliation at the hands of Scouse criminal Tommy Dixon.

Printworks, London

Rotherhithe’s Printworks was used for an illegal boxing fight that takes place in episode two. Other London locations include Canary Wharf’s Billingsgate Market, The Sekforde pub in Clerkenwell, and the modernist St Paul’s Church in Southwark.
