There’s a whole host of exciting new restaurant openings, food festivals and different cuisines to sample across Europe, but few are quite as glamorous as this new venture.
Brand-new restaurant Rhudo has just opened on 64 Velázquez Street, Madrid, and it’s owned by a star-studded roster of celebs.
Footballers Antoine Griezmann and Marcos Llorente have joined forces with actors Álex González and Miguel Ángel Silvestre, alongside chef Paco Roncero, to open the newest ‘place to be’ in the Spanish capital.
This mega 1,800-square-metre space can host up to 300 guests, and it’s located near the ultra-luxurious Bless Hotel Madrid. It’ll have a raw bar and kitchen and show space, alongside restaurant seating.
We don’t yet know exactly what the place will look like, but according to promotions on social media Rhudo’s emphasis will be on raw ingredients and a commitment to Mediterranean flavours, with an avant-garde twist. Culinary director Paco Roncero has designed dishes such as ‘lobster with green apple mayonnaise and hibiscus tagine’. Snazzy.
To wash down all those grandiose ingredients is a mega wine list of bottles from excellent producers in Spain, Italy, France, Australia, Argentina, South Africa and the USA, plus cocktails designed by professional mixologist Miguel Pastor.
Excitingly, the restaurant opens its doors today, Friday, January 12. Headed to Madrid this weekend? Why not try and snag a reservation.
