Travelling can be cheap if you’re organised enough to get all your transport, accommodation and activities booked in advance – but life doesn’t always happen like that, and even if it did, some of us just aren’t built that way.

That’s why it’s great news for the more spontaneous among us that Eurostar has relaunched its ‘snap’ ticket scheme, where passengers can select a date and destination and leave the rest to the operator to organise.

Eurostar will let you know the window in which you’ll be travelling, but confirmation of the exact service you’ll be on is sent to you 48 hours before departure. Tickets can be booked up to two weeks in advance (if you’re travelling to and from London) or eight days in advance for other routes.

For ‘type A’ travellers that might sound way too last minute, but with discounts of up to 50 percent, we’ll take it. Hopping on the Eurostar is pretty handy after all, given it doesn’t require trekking out of the city to an airport and waiting around for hours before departure. Plus, if there’s an excuse to avoid flying, our ears are always open.

‘Snap has been a customer favourite, and we’re thrilled to bring it back year-round, offering a smart solution for travellers who can be flexible with their schedules,’ says François Le Doze, Chief Commercial Officer at Eurostar.
