Feeling nostalgic for a time when you could go on holiday and know that everything would be open? The Caribbean island Curaçao is now fully open to vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers, and they're even offering a hotel promo to entice visitors to come and stay and while.
After reaching a record-low positivity rate of 0.15 percent of cases this week, Curaçao is officially, fully open to all nationalities. The country-wide curfew has also been lifted and outdoor restaurants, bars, and lounges are now operating at full capacity.
But perhaps coolest of all is the hotel promotion currently being offered across the island. From now until June 29, 2021, visitors can buy a three-night stay and get the fourth night free. The promotion applies to all participating hotels, which range from family-friendly resorts and boutique hotels to luxury villas and private islands. The offer is valid for stays between June 19 and October 30, 2021.
There are still some rules in place, though, for entry to the country. Both vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers must complete a digital immigration card online and a passenger locator card at least 48 hours before departure, and carry a printed copy with them upon arrival. Visitors must also submit the negative results of a Covid PCR test and schedule an antigen test at an on-island lab on their third day in Curaçao.
While Curaçao may be welcoming all nationalities right now, the country sits firmly on the UK's amber list, which means travellers arriving from there are required to quarantine for ten days and take three tests. Those travelling back to the US will need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken within three days of travel or provide documentation from a licensed health care provider of having recovered from Covid in the last 90 days.
